Day 1:

Majority dislike littering habit as it causes the environment to be dirty. Several mentioned it causes inconvenience to people like tourists (causing bad impression).

Day 2:

Majority mentioned FINE, ADVERTISING, and NOTICES around HDB.

Several mentioned that by renovating the places such as hawker centres, it helps to reduce litters.

Day 3:

Fews jotted down places like HDB mail boxes, and car parks. Most of them felt uneasy about it.

Day 4:

By looking at the picture given, some honest answers mentioned that they feel guilty for doing to sometimes. However, some never did that. They throw their litters in the correct place, and feel unhappy about the people’s attitude who throw litter at that area. 6 out of 20 says that area makes people think that they can litter over there too, since it is already littered by most people, thus it may create pests too.

Day 5:

25 out of 27 people agree this statement. Majority said that they can still see a lot of people littering(spitting) instead of making an effort to find a rubbish bins. Several mentioned that they can still see cleaners having hard time to pick up the rubbish that people throw.

As for their own view, a lot of them stated that people are lazy to find the nearest rubbish bin while they have litters in their hand.

Day 6:

All says that either the cleaners are not doing their jobs or there are not enough cleaners / rubbish bins.

Day 7:

places chosen are nearby rubbish bins (like the previous picture), and places that already has litters on it, that makes people think it is fine to litter on that region. Fews mentioned HDB lift, car parks, beach bbq pit, HDB ladders etc..

What have you learn?

Quite a lot of people says that Singaporeans feel its alright to litter at the area that is already dirty.

8 out of 20 feels there are not enough rubbish bins.

Some says people need to be more educated on how littering affect our environment and life style.

2 people says we must not rely on cleaners alone to solve the littering problem.

—–

Day 1
Most of our target user express that it’s a public responsibility to throw their litter at the right place. Majority feel that they would not want to be in the comic girls shoe’s whereby you finally found a toilet but to only found out that it’s out of service due to some irresponsible users that do not know how to dump their litter at the right place.

We’ve got a few similar answers from women that female wash room’s toilet bowl have the higher chance to be choke as some just simply flush their pads into the bin. Some express that they have seen this poster before at some public toilet’s doors years ago.

From what we’ve receive back, most are very keen to write their thoughts on “Express your View” section.

Day 2
Most of them are not aware of any programs in our community that deal with litter prevention. It really shows that our target audience have litter understanding to community that deal with such prevention. However, they show positive remark that they hope to hear more of such community.

Day 3
We’ve got many interesting result from our target users. Some of them found a place which is pleasant and clean, while others found a place which is unpleasant. Each of them have different experience. They expresses that from this exercise they are more observant to their surrounding and hope that Singaporeans could be more motivated to throw their litters into the bin.

Day 4
Most of them feel that old buildings/HDB flats are more prone to such activity being carry out (in the picture shown). They were disgusted by such action when there’s a bin for them to throw their rubbish.

However, there’s a small amount of people who actually defend “this action” (of throwing trash on the floor). They gave the reason that their trash might be too big to fit the bin, therefore they decided to just dump their litter on the ground

Day 5
Majority agree that cleaners are the one that keep Singaporeans clean and that Singaporeans are losing the responsibility in doing a part in keeping Singapore clean. Some even blame on the government that they have hire too many cleaners to clean the streets for us, it lead us to being lazy and the attitude to throw our litter everywhere but not into the bin.

They feel that Singaporeans are educated  to begin with, they should know where to throw their litter and a few feel they’re disgraced by the so-called ‘green city’. It’s green, but all thanks to the cleaners not us.

However, there’s a small amount of people reply Yes and praise the cleaners for the good job!

Day 6
Most of them feel disgusted and upset by the picture. “Singapore Litter Free”
However only a few mention that there could be not enough bin at that area, as a result to such situation. And they should know that the bin is full and throw their bin at another bin instead.

Day 7
Drain, Pubs, HDB flats basement… this are a few replies we have. Some feel is a norm in such places, since everyone is leaving the trash behind. “Monkey see monkey do” , they follow what others does.

Most of them are positive in keep the environment clean. Like one of our target audience have mention. To litter is easy, but to stop littering is a challenge. There are some suggestion in keeping the environment clean and they feel that with the growing population in singapore, it’s a urgent to educate the public and using other progams to re-enforce in keeping singapore clean and green.

Day 1: Majority of the target users feel that littering in public toilets is a significant issue and needs to be dealed with properly. The main concerns are hygiene problem, eyesores, etc. Target users show a strong need for public environments to be clean and pleasant. Female target users also will share about their unpleasant experiences in public toilets with serious littering, wheras male target users generally refer to all public environments.

Day 2: Most answered Yes and programs that most people mentioned are government campaigns, school activities/community work, fines & law punishments.

Day 3: Most target users chose void decks. They observed that people who are in a social group (friends/family) will throw the litter into bins, but individuals especially younger kids and teenagers tend to not want to litter properly and feel that it is due to lack of education or awareness or feel that it’s “cool” to not follow the rules.

Day 4: Target users generally feel that the scene in the picture is not only common, but has become a sight that they are used to seeing. They have the concept of  “as long as you throw near the rubbish bin, people will clear it away one day”. Though they know this is not right, but they raised issues that throwing away bulky objects are inconvenient if you just use the bins. They also feel that such a sigh is an eyesore and is unpleasant.

Day 5:  There are slightly more “yes” than “no” and reasons for “yes” is that there are many cleaners everywhere and there are standard timings/routines whereby these cleaners will clean up an area. Some state the example of public holidays where cleaners are employed to clean up town areas after parties/countdowns. They also mentioned that governments will make sure environments are clean to protect Singapore’s image. Reasons for “no” is that they feel that most Singaporeans are educated enough and are afraid to be punished by the law and will thus not litter in public themselves.

Day 6: Most target users feel that the sight is disgusting and raised issues about pests, bad odour and why did the cleaners not clean up the place. They also gave suggestions that more bins should have been placed in the area and that it is not unusual to see this sight because if there are no nearby bins that they can reach, people will throw around the assuming it will be cleaned up.

Day 7: Parks with bushes/lots of grass, dark secluded places, carparks, back alleys, void decks are the common places mentioned. Target users generally feel that these places are usually dark and with little crowd and will not be seen by public, thus encouraging people to litter as they are lazy and also unwilling to find a nearby bin.

1. Adam Khoo Motivation Camp

These pictures were taken last 2 years, when I was still in my secondary school, studying for the coming O’level examinations. During the month of March, my secondary school had organized us a camp which was from the ADAM KHOO motivation camp company. The main idea of this camp is to motivate us (graduating students) to be motivated in our coming O’level examinations. The coaches had put in so much effort that they make us believe in ourselves, and allow us to have goal in our minds.

This camp was held 3-full-days. From morning until night, we played together with our schoolmates and coaches. Our coaches were very kind to us. They made us laugh, gain new experiences, like believing in ourselves, taught us new things in our life that we never knew before, and also made us cry. Yes! the coaches made us cry. You will be wondering how an a coach can make us cry. He told us and lectures us about how kind our parents are. Our coaches made us realized that our parents are willing to sacrifice everything, EVERYTHING, for their children. Coaches told us story, and off the light of the whole lecture hall. During that period of time, all students, ALL STUDENTS, were crying like crazy. It was a very unforgettable moment.

Furthermore, during the last day of our camp, which was the 3rd day, Adam Khoo came to our school and lecture us too (the guy in red polo shirt is him). He told us that our past does not equal to our future. Of course, that was not the only thing that we learnt from the camp.

I found this experience was very fun and meaningful. And it was an unforgettable experience that I had ever have in my life=)

2. iChat with brother.

I spent almost half an hour, just to play in iChat with my brother. Just to tell you the truth, we were just separated by a wall. Yes, we were just next to each other’s room. As you can see, it was a very interesting to have a video chat with such an idiotic and funny effect. Our faces were so funny that we just cant stop laughing at each other. I believe it is one way we can interact with each other by showing our funny and ugly faces. By doing this, we can brighten up each other’s day =)

Visit http://www.thisfashion.com.sg/ and make an analysis by answering the following questions:

1. How do you find this site? (in 3 words)

- Unattractive, Dull, Undetailed.

2. Who do you think the site is created for?

- Young women. This is because there is a young women picture in the home page. The welcoming text “dear member”, it also clearly means that this website is mainly for the members. Also, after visiting the content of this website, I guess that this website is mainly for regular customer / subscriber too. This is because this website does not really show about how fashionable the clothes are. It only provides some basic informations. Such as where are the outlets, and what are the promotions. Thus, this website only useful for people who know about this shop.

regular customer
8:28 PM
subscrib

3. What are the good attributes of the site (in terms of usability, aesthetic issues, etc)?

The website is quite plain, not too much pictures, this allows the viewers (subscribers/ regular customers) to get informations easily. Furthermore, the the texts are not fancy and it is read easily, with the light color background and dark color text. While several texts are need to be emphasized, it is in colored with a outstanding color (such as light green), so that viewers will get information in a more faster way.

4. What are the bad attributes of the site?

This site provides lack of information about the kind of clothes that are sold in the shop. Also, lack of pictures showing clothes / shops. If the reader does not read any text, and just scan through the website, the readers will probably know it is a clothes shop only after he/she visit the site under OUTLETS.  Viewers who does not know about this shop at all, they might have no interest to visit this shop, because of the unattractiveness in the website.
